{"id":1925,"date":"2014-08-09T18:20:10","date_gmt":"2014-08-09T23:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.steelbuddha.net\/?p=1925"},"modified":"2022-10-30T09:06:42","modified_gmt":"2022-10-30T14:06:42","slug":"sonnet-from-the-secret-bathroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.steelbuddha.net\/?p=1925","title":{"rendered":"Sonnet from the secret bathroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It wouldn&#8217;t be to hide my shame at all<br \/>\nShould I refrain from making mention of&#8217;t<br \/>\nNor would I feign to write this on the wall<br \/>\nAnd join the men before me who have loved<\/p>\n<p>To sit uninterrupted by the eyes<br \/>\nOf those incapable of thinkers pose.<br \/>\nTis them, not I, who fail to realize<br \/>\nHow fast we fail when lacking this repose.<\/p>\n<p>Nature calls on one in her own time,<br \/>\nfickly finds philosophies forlorn,<br \/>\nTurns running streams of consciousness to lime:<br \/>\n&#8220;Become again the beast that you were born!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But cultured thought rests not from judgment free<br \/>\nSo, let this haven safely hidden be<\/p>\n<p>SONNET SKELETON, written June 2nd<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not that I&#8217;m embarrassed<br \/>\nOr that I don&#8217;t like people<br \/>\nBut I need time and space to think<br \/>\nDespite how it&#8217;s been a joke, it is true<\/p>\n<p>My shitting is my business<br \/>\nAnd business requires an office<br \/>\nA place with a door you can shut<br \/>\nAnd a place to keep your notes.<\/p>\n<p>Besides what better way to be alone with ones self<br \/>\nAnd to understand ones nature<br \/>\nThan to let nature take hold<br \/>\nCompletely<br \/>\nAnd be the beast that you were born?<\/p>\n<p>If what I am cannot be truly free<br \/>\nThen let this haven safely hidden be<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It wouldn&#8217;t be to hide my shame at all Should I refrain from making mention of&#8217;t Nor would I feign to write this on the wall And join the men before me who have loved To sit uninterrupted by the eyes Of those incapable of thinkers pose.
