A list of movies I will watch in theaters in 2006:

\nThe Da Vinci Code<\/a> – Though the prose was amateurish, I did find it suspenseful, and there hasn’t been an Indiana Jones movie in a while.<\/p>\n

Xmen: The Last Stand<\/a> – This will likely be crap, but I like superheroes.<\/p>\n

Superman Returns<\/a> – Directed by the guy who did X-2, this likely won’t be crap. And I still like superheroes.<\/p>\n

Lady in the Water<\/a> – This will likely be (wonderfully directed and written) crap, but I like M. Night Shyamalan, Paul Giamotti and Bryce Dallas Howard (thus far).<\/p>\n

An Inconvenient Truth<\/a> – I saw the trailer for this “movie” at the Downer Theater and I’d like to hear what Gore has to say. I hope he’s done his research. It’s interesting to see the Democrats take a page from the Republicans and use fear as a motivator.<\/p>\n

Typhoon<\/a> – The movie before which I saw the trailer above starred the same Korean fellow<\/a>. I’d like to see him in more.<\/p>\n

Nacho Libre<\/a> – Either the best or worst movie of 2006, but my love affair with Jack Black is going strong after 13 years.<\/p>\n

Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest<\/a> – Missing Bob Anderson at fight direction, but still should be fun.<\/p>\n

A Scanner Darkly<\/a> – Richard Linklater directing Keanu Reeves (who obviously loves his sci-fi and makes me love it, too) in a Philip K. Dick story. If you aren’t there, you’re no friend of mine.<\/p>\n

Fearless<\/a> – Possibly Jet Li’s last action movie, co-starring the fabulous Michelle Yeoh. Not to be missed.<\/p>\n

Snakes on a Plane<\/a> – Either the best or worst movie of 2006. See Nacho Libre.<\/p>\n

Clerks 2<\/a> – I’m a sucker for Kevin Smith movies.<\/p>\n

The Illusionist<\/a> – Ed Norton and the ubiquitous Paul Giamatti. I don’t even know the plot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
