Donations welcome.

So the West Memphis 3 have now had endorsements from the coolest people in the world, from Henry Rollins to the D themselves.

Whether you agree that they should be freed or not, it is clear and imperative that your friendly neighborhood steelbuddha should be at this show. But, I’m broke. Cancel the 35 cents you’re sending to house an orphan from an impoverished country and contribute to a real cause: send me to Hollywood for this show. Humanity will thank you, and so will little Manuel.

Disorder or genius?

Er…anyone know what Linus is doing? Someone needs to watch that boy every minute, I swear.

Imitation, Innovation – Let’s call the whole thing off.

Said I to Bjorn in the year of our Lord 1999, “We should truly mimic our favorite rock band, The Led Zeppelin, and produce an epic, yet incredibly short, tune obviously written about J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. Perhaps we could have severe guitar chords followed by the repetition of the name ‘Gollum.'”

Said Bjorn to me, “It is done.”

And it was good. And, lo, was a genre born unto us. And then, some guy made some movies and our rightful riches were handed to the plagiarized, yet altogether worthy, work of a hack.

(Apologies for the lame bookends of MTV on that last link.)

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Before I sign off today, thought I’d leave you with one last thing.

Got this important missive right as I closed my Mail program. The subject: ERIC CLAPTON ON SALE THIS MONDAY AT 10 AM!

Poor Eric. The government should be craking down on this illegal internet trade. Hasn’t he suffered enough tragedy? Now to be sold into white slavery by a place as forgettable as the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee…just made me weep a little.

Fighting himself?

I got an email today that gave me false hopes. You see, the sender was Scotsman V. Drunks, but when I opened the email all I saw were Viagra advertisements. Damn, I was hoping to see some Scotsman headbutt a bunch of inebriated rednecks or something. What ever happened to truth in advertising?

That’s no trumpet concerto in E flat.

Defies explanation. Wriggles its fingers at you and dares you to click.

This is juvenile and will make you ashamed, but it’s like that time you went out at night jumping on people’s rooves (roofs – Czelticgirl) and scaring the shit out of them by howling like raving madmen when they came out to their garage. In five years’ time, you’ll wonder how you could ever be so childish, and in ten years’ time, you’ll lament over how punk rock you were and how bourgeois you’ve become.

This praise could attract moths.

Did you know about Lindsayism? I will elaborate:

1. That little flash bit at the top is the perfect use of flash: to augment a website subtly. That little flash bit is also impressively illustrated.

2. She is informed and witty, which is rare in any type of free entertainment and rarer still in bloggers.

3. Maud Newton reads her.

Nuff said.

limos and clowns

TL: NO! Limos are scary. Like clown limos. *shudder*
SB: Um…bwa? Ok then.
TL: bwa?
SB: Clown limos? bwa?
SB: It’s just the sound, not an acronym.
TL: gotcha.
TL: Brothers With Attitude
TL: Buddha Walking Airedales
SB: Which is one of the new road signs you’ll be seeing.
TL: I wonder what the silhouette would look like.

It would look like this.

Bonus, my boss came over while I was Photoshopping (see? bad grammar to use that as a verb) and did the quick mask for me! I guess that translates in business terms as “slacking approved!”

I feel so talentless today.

Linus is slowly working his way into the right hand nav over there. Maybe he’ll secure a spot after I meet him in person, which may be this summer.

Stay tuned.
